POLBO x ojo de tigre

Branding and product design

Polbo is a Puerto Rican rock band known for their bright and sensual music. So when record store Ojo de Tigre contacted us to design the branding for their latest album drop, we went with colors and imagery that reflected just that.

They wanted sexy, minimalist pin-up girls, so who are we to do otherwise? This 7” vinyl record is customized from head to toe, with a front and back that matches when you put them together (which is super helpful when you can get the record in two colors, classic black or primary magenta!). All letters are hand-written to reflect the artisanal touch the band wanted.

It was important to the client that the design reflected some aspect of popular Puerto Rican culture, without coming off as cliché or obvious. So we included what, to many Puerto Ricans, is a beloved fruit snack: la quenepa. Each girl holds one in her hands to further give it the touch of sensuality the client wanted. To top it off, you can get your own hands on a quenepa girl sticker to go with your record.
